DescriptionTransparent brown glass with enameling and hot appliques. Bowl-shaped cup with enameled floral and fruit decoration with gilded outlines: row of white dots below rim, then green leaves with purple grape clusters and red tulip-like flowers (all outlined in gilding), followed by another row of white enameled dots. Within grapes and leaves are faintly engraved vine tendrils. Cup rests on two narrow bulges and then a hollow trunk decorated with two rows of alternating applied raspberry prunts (six total). The stem is actually solid, as the bottom of the foot is flat across, making the vessel heavier; very unique foot. Possible maker’s mark hidden in the fruit-and-leaf decoration around bowl: faintly engraved “4 L” next to leaf and vine tendril.ProvenanceFaith W. Nusbaum and Sidney L.
