DescriptionLarge bottle. Thick, solid transparent colorless glass encases a translucent purple glass hollow bubble as the perfume receptacle. The body of the bottle is round on two faces and highly polished to see into the interior and through the vessel. The narrow sides are unpolished or acid-etched to obscure the light, with opaque black glass overlays that have been cameo cut into jagged swirls. The neck is a solid collar with small mouth, with black glass on the exterior. The base is facet cut smooth and polished, and a second base is adjoining (also cut smooth and polished) so that the vessel can rest “tipped” to the side as well. Along the lower edge of the bottom of the secondary base, is the incised date, edition information: “2000 limited edition PB8337 306/500” and along the top edge is the maker’s name (in script, which is illegible but could be something like “Eouin”). The finial is solid purple glass that appears opaque black and has a narrow pyramid-shaped profile with rounded bottom edges; the tapering and unpolished applicator rod is visible through the body of the bottle.ProvenanceFaith W.
