DescriptionNative American, probably Sarcee or possibly Blackfeet. Pair of buckskin leggings, suese side out. Trimmed down outseam side with strip of bead embroidery, light blue field with stepped triangle motifs in red, white and dark blue. Ankle trimmed with blue and red wool rickrack. One leg also painted with horizontal stripes, the other with small dots. Outseam also trimmed with long strip fringe of tubed ermine fur, and with red feathers, tipped with red and blue wool tassels. Shoulder or waist strap of buckskin beaded in blue, black and red.
