InscribedEngraved with an adaptation of an old English "D". Stamped on back with worn crowned leopard's head in shield above a block "D" in cut corner oblong. A lion passant in a cut corner oblong facing "D" and a worn head at bottom in cut corner oblong facing right.

DescriptionA silver teaspoon engraved on the face at top of the handle. Fiddle back pattern with double thread around edges back and fron ends in an oval on back of bowl and a square above bowl on front. As one of the ancestors of the lender was a sea captain in the China trade this spoon was very possibly copied form some English piece in China.
