DescriptionA figured mahogany tall case clock with a scrolled-top bonnet and a circular face. Fluted plinth blocks are surmounted by brass ball finials on sides and a brass urn-shaped finial at the center. The 11" diameter white painted metal dial with black enameled numerals is behind a glazed mahogany door with pierced brass latticework spandrels. The front corners of the bonnet and the midsection are chamfered and fluted, with brass stop fluting applied at the base section of each chamfer. The midsection is separated from the bonnet and base by large cove and astragal moldings. The arched paneled door in the midsection is veneered with figured mahogany veneer and edged with applied molding. The base is ornamented with an applied figured veneer panel edged by applied molding with quadrant cut corners. The bracket feet are cut with a scalloped ogee pattern.
