DescriptionTomb pottery figure of a Bactrian camel. Hollow camel has long rather static tubular legs standing foursquare on rectangular pottery base. Camel's head thrown back, mouth open, has thick muscular neck; the bulky body with pack thrown over back between two humps. Much deteriorated straw glaze overall; traces of black pigment in tiger stripe design on pack and harness around neck and tail. Traces of red pigment on camel mane, shoulders, rump and humps. Saddle or pack cloth fits around humps.
