DescriptionBlown, enameled acid-cut cameo cylindrical shape with trifoil top. Pale amber suffused with green bottom half and acid etched to simulate parchment. Enameled in relief with the figure of the queen from Francois Villons' and titles in Gothic script: "La Ballade des Dames du Temp Jadis/Francois Villon par privil du Roy" and a quote from it: "Semblablement ouest la Royne Qui/commanda que Buridan/Fust jette en un Sar en Seyne/Mais ou sont les/neiges d'anton?". Translated: The Ballade of the Ladies of By-Gone Times/Francois Villon by privilege of the king""Similarly where is the Queen/Who ordered Buridan/To be put in a bag and thrown in the Seine?/But where are the snows of yesteryear?". With small figure, flower and shield enclosing "EG" monogram around the cross of Lorraine.
