DescriptionInk and colors on silk painting mounted on paper. Painting has a seated six-armed figure at center silk which is very dark. Figure stands out with its gilt skin coloring. One left hand holds up a small flaming jewel on a tray. Three flaming jewels are on a small lotus dish in one of the right hands. Drapery is flowing and has finely painted gilt designs on it. A halo encircles the head, a large halo encircles the entire body. Faint form of a dragon peering upward is at lower left. A small worshipping figure is at upper left. Silk is very dark & much fragmented, but well restored when rebacked. A bulbous dark discoloration is among the upper right side. Kamakura Period.
