DescriptionOpaque watercolor painting on silk. From the Muromachi period. Amida Buddha sits at center on a barely visible throne, with left leg under him, right leg pendant with foot resting on small lotus blossom. Kannon is on his left seated on clouds (as are the others) holding lotus in his hands before him. On Buddha's other side is Seishi, Bodhisattva of wisdom with hands in worhipful attitude behind central figure. Large circular halos surround their heads with gold rims. Light sashes float around the figures on the right.Published ReferencesChrysler Museum BULLETIN, Nov. 1953. PUB. LEDGER, 10/5/53.
