Among those denied entrance here to the Tic Toc, a popular hamburger restaurant, is SNCC field secretary Bernice Reagon (b. 1942). Reagon was also a founding member in 1962 of the Freedom Singers, an ensemble who wrote and performed African American spirituals to mobilize demonstrators and to express the goals of the Civil Rights Movement through music.
