DescriptionThe David L. Hack Civil War Photography Collection. This photograph reveals a battle fort in preparation of fighting. Four cannons are lined up against the low wall. One man sits on horseback. Men with rifles stand behind the cannon area, near the center of the photograph. The ground is nothing but dirt. In the foreground there are two wooden planks lying on the dirt on the left side and wheel tracks running from the right side to the back of the scene. Behind the wall is a small building and a flag. In the distance are the woods. This is from _Gardner's Photographic Sketchbook of the War_ (Hack Collection No. 2].
