DescriptionThe David L. Hack Civil War Photography Collection. In this photograph there is a dirt pathway leading down to the water's edge. A man's form is standing on the path. From the edge of the path a pier juts out to the water on the right side of the frame. In the center there are several boats. The largest boat is flying an American flag and has "Planter" in large letters across it. The text beneath the picture reads "Medical supply boat "Planter" at Hospital Wharf, Appomattox River, Va."
