DescriptionCovered sugar bowl of pressed colorless flint glass. "Geometric" oblong in form. Bowl has a scalloped rim and boldly molded sides. Oblong stepped base. Grid pattern on bottom with rays extending toward foot. Bowl is badly cracked & scallop at one corner is missing. LID: Has three stepped moldings and an oblong paneled finial. Flakes on corners and knop of lid.

Published ReferencesInnes, PITTSBURGH: 1797-1891, fig. 399, nearly identical example ill. Height differs (5") and it has chamfered corners at its foot instead of the right angle corners here.
