DescriptionThe Bust of Dmitri Shostakovich is executed in bronze, partially patinated in red. It is part of an edition of 5, and is inscribed on the lower back: © Neiz. 5/5. The face is “split” by a deep crevice running diagonally through the face, dividing the head roughly in two and literally shattering the sitter’s glasses. One half of the bronze head is patinated a rich brown hue, the other toned a bright red.Label TextErnst Iosipovitch Neizvestny Russian (b. 1925) Bust of Dmitri Shostakovich, 1976 Bronze, 12 x 9 x 9 in.
