DescriptionThis is a large and heavy glass vase with thick walls, blown from translucent lavender-purple glass overlaid with opaque light lavender glass. The outer layer has been sand-carved (sandblasted) with an all-over pattern design called the “kiva steps.” The vase has a globular bottom that is ground flat, and an undulating profile at the neck.
