DescriptionBan Shan Burial Urn. Pot is not quite symmetrical; it has sloping shoulders to widest diameter at center of body; tapers to foot. Two loop handles on lower body; two tiny "pinched" ears under mouth. Slightly flared neck is 1.25" high. Clay reddish buff. Bottom flat; thinly potted. Painted with large red diamond shapes bordered by black sawtooth design and containing black lozenge shapes with dot in each one. Very geometric in character. Neck has black criss-cross pattern.
