DescriptionCandlestick, cast bronze with glass shade, with a heavy green patina. The base is supported by sixteen small feet. Above each foot is a circular aperture which holds a hollow ball of Favrile glass. The balls are of transparent amber glass with a multi-colored iridescence and a metal backing that enables the balls to be held in place. The stem is divided into thirds by two Favrile balls encircled by three metal bands. Screwed into the top of the stem is a short rod and the candleholder. Around the rod is a hollow ball of transparent amber glass with a multi-colored iridescence. Attached to the candleholder is a support to hold the Favrile shade. The ribbed shade is of transparent mold-blown amber glass with a blue-silver and gold iridescence on the exterior and a blue-silver and purple iridescence on the interior. Similar to piece in Koch, G-B-L, p. 103 (fig. 142 third row, second from right).
