DescriptionThis albumen carte de visite is a three-quarter-length standing portrait of Nathaniel Parker Willis (1806-1867), journalist, editor, writer, poet. This CDV is from C. D. Fredericks & Co., New York, Havana, and Paris. The mount is rectangular; the face of the card is bordered by double brown lines (double lines visible at top and bottom, and partially visible down left side). Mr. Willis faces the camera, turned slightly to his proper left; left hand rests on a chair back and right hand on waist holding a hat. He has dark hair and beard.
