DescriptionThis is a pine sculpture of a young woman standing in high heels. It is made of two slabs of pine which make up her skirt and torso; her legs, connected to her skirt, are just calfs. Her face, made of a different wood-piece, has some painting outlining the eyes, eyebrows, and hinting at the hair. Five bound groups of wire comprise the curly hair, which stand straight up, as if blown by wind. Two more curled wire clumps are on the base. Hands, without arms, are attached to the front of the torso.Label TextWilliam Dickey King American, 1925-2015 Windy Day, ca. 1954-58 Pine and wire Gift of Walter P. Chrysler, Jr. 71.1367
