He is shown from head to mid-thigh range. He is in uniform with a double buttoned breast coat. He is shown with no smile, arms crossed in front of his body, his hair brushed neatly back, with facial hair of a mustache and goatee neatly trimmed. This is Plate 10 from _Gardner's Photographic Sketchbook of the War_ (Hack Collection No. 50).

Chrysler, Jr. 98.32.36 General P.G.T. Beauregarde was in command of Confederate forces at first battle of Bull Run. He was appointed a brigadier general, C.S.A. on March 1 1861, after resigning from the U.S.A. in February, 1861.
