DescriptionThe David L. Hack Civil War Photography Collection. Sepia toned photograph of Ulysses S. Grant in an oval shape shows him dressed in a suit, seen from the head to the tops of his thighs, as he is seated in a wooden chair. He has dark hair, and a full salt and pepper beard. A coat hangs behind his right shoulder on the chair back and a pocket watch chain is hanging across his chest. He appears to be holding a cigar in his left hand.
