DescriptionThis watercolor is a preliminary study for a painting. The right of the watercolor has an overlaid grid in graphite. There are sketches of sailboats also in graphite at the upper right. On one of these sailboats is inscribed the French word "rouge" (red). The water depicted in the background of the watercolor is blue and the trees that on on the land are brown and green.
