DescriptionThis is a sculpture of glass that has the shape of a classical Greco-Roman vase, although the object has no interior receptacle and cannot function as a container. It is made from 21 circular pieces of cut and ground ¼-inch green commercial plate glass, with rectangular spacers of cut and ground ½-inch green commercial plate glass. The individual cut pieces are stacked alternatingly (circle-spacer-circle) upwards in a spiraled helical formation, creating a three-dimensional object by means of both solids and voids. The segments are laminated or affixed together with blue-dyed UV adhesive.
