A new cast iron lighthouse, completed in 1881, is located just 350 feet to the southeast of this tower. Mann published a photograph showing both lights in National Geographic in June 1918 with the title Father and Son: Cape Henry, Virginia. This print showing only the weathered historic lighthouse rising above the dunes is cropped from the larger original. Museum collection 0.868 Exhibition History"Harry C.
