DescriptionBaluster shaped vase with a white crackle background decorated with a band of flying birds (pelicans?) in blue and yellow. The birds are flying against a turquoise sky. The neck and base of the vase have blue geometric designs.

Label TextVase Belgian, ca. 1925 Faience in the cloisonné manner Designed by Charles Catteau and executed at the Keramis works of Boch Freres. Catteau designed a wide range of ceramics in stoneware as well as in faience. The stylized pelicans seen on this vase and in the deer on the accompanying piece by the same artist were done in cloisonné. Gift of Walter P.
