DescriptionOval basket of heavy weight raised on four hairy ball-and-claw feet. Rim formed by elaborate case overlay bound by broad sinuous curves; flowers and leaves spaced around rim and each end has mask of bearded old man. Lower edge of rim is of very irregular outline which helps it blend in with the surrounding piercing of sides. The base has a deep-set, flat-chased border composed of C-scrolls relieved by flowers and leaves. A coat of arms is engraved in the plain center. Handle cast with women's heads and chased with C-scrolls, flowers, leaves and engraved with word "firm" from the coat of arms.
