DescriptionThis is a Worcester fluted saucer dish painted in the London workshop of James Giles. The center of the saucer has a cluster of rose fruits and green leaves surrounded by eight sprigs of iron-red hops and green leaves within a gilt feather-edged roundel. The gilt dentil-edged rim has a border of alternating rose stippled or diapered panels within gilt C-scrolls alternating with rose C-scrolls above gilt bowknots suspending a gilt floral garland and eight swags of hops. There is some wear to the gilt edge.
