InscribedMarks for the date, London, and maker are stamped below the bird frieze on the collar: date letter "C" in a shield, Lion passant, maker's initials "IWC" in a rectangle. The box hinge is engraved with initials: "IP", "MP", and the later engraved initials "WC".
