DescriptionThe David L. Hack Civil War Photography Collection. This photograph reads "Headquarters General Hospital, City Point, VA". The picture shows a dirt field in the foreground. Farther back, there is a fence made out of poles with an X pattern in the design of the fence. Behind the fenced area near the center of the photo there are people standing around and a large tent in the distance. There are very few trees in this photo. To the left there seems to be smaller tents and off to the right tents are present as well. The right border of the photo shows a hint of a covered wagon. This is from _Gardner's Photographic Sketchbook of the War_ (Hack Collection No. 2].
