DescriptionThis is a rare 'Dolphin Ewer' Small Sauceboat. Press-molded on either side with shell-form fluting alternately striped in blue and issuing from a scallop shell at the back further molded with a rococo foliate device and affixed with a lamprey-form handle, the spout molded with addorsed dolphins between scallop shells above and below, the blue-edged circular foot molded with shells and leafage, and the scroll-edged rim painted on the interior and exterior with floral sprays and sprigs.
