DescriptionThis is a Worcester 'Valentine' Pattern 'Blind Earl' Sweetmeat Dish. Characteristically molded with two rose and green buds and two stems of rose leaves issuing from the twig handle, and painted in shades of rose, purple, green, brown and iron-red with a bird flying toward a flaming altar, a floral garlanded breadfruit tree and a pair of lovebirds perched on a quiver in a hilly landscape, the scalloped rim with a border of diapered panels, S-scrolls and trefoil foliate devices.
