DescriptionThis is a Worcester "Blind Earl" sweetmeat dish. It is characteristically molded with two stems of rose leaves and two buds issuing from the gilt-heightened white twig handle. The center is painted in purple with a neoclassical urn within a star-shaped panel formed by garlands of iron-red hops, rose, yellow, and purple fruit and green leaves suspended from five rose bowknots at the C-scroll-bordered lower edge of a gros bleu band at the gilt dentil-edged scalloped rim. There is slight wear.
