DescriptionThe hinged lid of the teapot bears a rose spray finial, fastened by a wing nut, in the center. Three applied decorative bands on the body show, from top to bottom, stylized pomegranate, basket weave, and pomegranate decoration. The pot is supported by four hairy talon on flattened ball feet. The spout has an eagle head decoration above a double-indented band and a paneled curve. The Grecian style hollow silver handle is paneled with acanthus trim and has two ivory insulators. The handle terminals bear applied bearded face designs at both top and bottom. Engraved initials within an engraved wreath appear on one side only and read "BMM." Touch mark stamped on base reads "S. Kirk & Son Co. / 925/1000 / 1368."
