DescriptionThe pitcher is decorated by three concentric bands of applied borders and banding of asterisk stars and basket weave design; an additional band of pomegranate-like fruit is located between the swelled body of the pitcher and the feet. The ball feet are sculpted with hairy talon designs. A Grecian style handle attaches at the top with a ram's head decoration joined by a raised wedge and rising to acanthus leafage; the bottom of the handle has an acorn centered on fanning leafage. Script engraved initials, approximately 1" high, appear on each side of the body, each within an engraved oval wreath. The more deeply engraved set, which shows its ghost inside the pot reads "MEM." The verso set reads "BMM." The maker's punchmark is struck on the underside of the pitcher, with the first third reaching; the lettering present reads "Y RASCH," with a diagonal defect between the S and C.
