DescriptionThis is an engraving on paper which depicts a scene of the Natural Bridge in Virginia. The principal image is surrounded by five vignettes and a decorative border. The vignettes depict a man shackled in chains and chained to rocks, an enslaved person being tortured and whipped, a group of figures in English costume quarreling, a group of Native American figures engaged in conflict, and a scene of an overburdened man carrying a large parcel.
