DescriptionThis is a stereocard with two albumen prints affixed to it. The card is orange and the images show a dead Confederate artilleryman with gunner's haversack and another corpse in the background near the legs of a standing horse. A broken gun sponge is near the artilleryman, and was possibly moved there by the photographer to serve as a prop.ProvenancePurchased from eBay dealer Walnutts, Brewster, MA, February 17, 2020.
