DescriptionOne of a pair of covered soup tureens. The unusual elephant-head finials resting on a coronet suggest that these tureens were quite possibly made for an Englishman who had served his country in India. The engraved coat of arms on each tureen has not been identified, however.Exhibition History"Treasures for the Table: Silver from the Chrysler Museum," The Chrysler Museum, Norfolk, VA, June 15 - Aug. 6, 1989; R.W.
