DescriptionThis is a one of pair of Worcester partridge tureens and covers. Each has well molded plumage and the eyes, beak, wing tips, and tail are delineated in gilding. The birds are modeled affronte with head slightly turned, roosted on a nest edged with gilt-heightened grasses and feathers. The rims of the cover and bowl are edged with a gilt dentil band. There are chips to the nest edgings. One bird has a piece of sand on the cover. The other bird has had the right wing tip and the cover flange repaired and the bowl has been cracked and repaired.
