DescriptionThis is a Worcester quatrefoil soup tureen (A), cover (B), and stand (C). Each piece is colorfully painted with bouquets, sprays, and sprigs of flowers and foliage. The branch-shaped handles are brown and yellow. On the tureen and cover, the handles are bifurcated and terminate in yellow acorns and green oak leaves. The handles on the stand are more russet in tone and terminate in colorful applied blossoms and green leaves. The tureen and stand rim have gadrroned edges heightened in blue and gold. The cover rim with a gilt dentil band at the edge. The stand is married and its terminals are chipped.ProvenanceHenry Clay Hofheimer, II
