Label TextAttributed to Tiffany Studios Corona, New York Japanese-Style Hanging Lantern with Turtle Back Glass, early 20th century Colored flat and presses glass assembled with copper foil; bronze Gift of Walter P. Chrysler, Jr. 0.2390 Hanging lantern. Turtleback electric. With a bronze framework, cover & chain that have a green patina. The framework divides the lantern into two rows of six sections apiece. Each section of the lower half has ten rectangular pieces of white glass streaked with yellow. Opalescent white "turtlebacks" with a heavy gold iridescence are set into the top half of the framework and the hinged bottom.
