InscribedBoth cup and cover are marked. The band on the cup is engraved with an inscription and date of 1762. Hallmarks (struck on lip of cover and bottom of beaker): Crossed keys (mark of the city of Riga); IDR (maker's mark): "IDR im Dreipaß"; D: "Jahresbuchstabe des Aeltermanns" - which was used from 1764 to 1768; Engraved Cyrillic E (beaker); Engraved Cyrillic III (Ripida).

DescriptionTall beaker (pokol) raised from an applied round foot and flaring out at the rim. The foot is gilt and decorated with fluting. The body is plain silver decorated with a gilt band at the lip. The body is also engraved with a family crest in gilt. The round slightly closed cover is decorated with Rococo cartouch-like devices and is surmounted with a pineapple finial. All decorations are gilt as is the interior.
