DescriptionThis is a 'Fisherman and Cormorant' Pattern Small Sauceboat. Press-molded with 'strap fluting' reserved on either side with a scroll-edged cartouche and under the spout with a quatrefoil panel, and transfer-printed on one side with a Chinese figure holding a fish and standing on a sampan near a fence, rocks and peonies, on the reverse with a fisherman and huts in a river landscape with a cormorant to the right, and around the rim with a cell diaper border edged with a cup-and-ball band, the back with an ear-shaped handle, and the whole raised on a plain domed oval foot.
