DescriptionThis is a Worcester 'Beckoning Chinaman' Pattern Faceted Spherical Teapot (A) and Cover (B). Painted in a famille-rose palette on one side with a purple-robed Chinaman beckoning with his left hand toward an imaginary root and turf device, and on the reverse with a boy seated beneath a tree and greeting a lady holding a fan, to the right of the faceted spout and ribbed loop handle a flowering branch, and the cover with two flowering branches and sprigs encircling the turnip-shaped knop.
