DescriptionThis is a Worcester Chinoiserie Spherical Teapot (A) and Cover (B). It is painted in Chinese Export porcelain style on one side with a Chinese lady wearing a colorful costume, holding a basket in her right hand, standing before shrubbery and observing a moustacioed man wearing an open shirt and dancing beneath a tree, and on the reverse with a blue-robed Chinaman gretting two friends, each within a large panel separated by small iron-red and black floral panels, the cover with a garden vignette and similar floral panels around the conical knop. There is some discoloration on the spout and handle, and considerable speckling on the body.
