DescriptionThis is a Worcester octagonal soup plate painted after a Kangxi famille-vert original with a Chinese pheasant in flight above another perched on a fence beneath a pine tree between a flowering plant and a jardiniere on a table, the cavetto with an iron-red ruyi-head border, the green-ground rim stippled in back and decorated with four phoenixes amidst peonies within a blue double line, an iron-red whorl band and an iron-red and gilt gadrooned edge, and the underside of the rim with eight iron-red and green peony sprigs. There is a tiny rim chip.
