DescriptionThis is a Worcester baluster-form coffee pot (A) and cover (B) colorfully painted on either side with a man walking before a tall table and budding shrubbery and bringing a floral bouquet to a mustachioed Chinese man and his attendant standing at a marble-topped table set with a dish of finger citrons. The rim has an underglaze blue demi-flowerhead, trefoil, and dotted tassel border. The cover has three Chinese ladies at various pursuitrs between an underglaze blue scallop-and-dot border around the iron-red and green floral sprig knop and a cell diaper border around the gilt-edged rim. The cover is possibly married and there are chips on the knop and beneath the rim.ProvenanceHenry Clay Hofheimer, II
