It is painted in iron-red, green, blue, and gilding with panels of prunus branches or chrysanthemums alternating with underglaze blue panels reserved with a gilt-centered iron-red and white mons surrounded by gilt blossoms and foliage. The base of the pot and the dome of the cover have an underglaze blue border reserved with a white floral vine. The cover has an iron-red and green floral sprig knop. There is a pseudo-Chinese seal mark in underglaze blue. There are tiny chips in the knop.
