The cup is bell shaped and painted in an expanded Imari palette of underglaze-blue, iron-red, green, and gilding around the interior of the coffee cup. There are flowering plants growing from a gilt herringbone-patterned underglaze blue border interrupted with iron-red demi-flowerhead panels repeated as a border around the scalloped and barbed rim.
