DescriptionThis is a Worcester "Royal Marriage" pattern "French shape" fluted teacup (A), coffee cup (B), and saucer (C). Each piece is painted in shades of rose, purple, iron-red, blue, yellow, and green with the floral clusters, two of them concealing a bow or an arrow, alternating with three gilt foliate pendants suspended from gilt C-scrolls at the lower edge of a gros bleu border patterned with a gilt chain motif beneath the gilt dentil-edged scalloped rim. The center of the teacup and saucer are painted with a blue and gilt sprig. There are crescent marks in underglaze blue. There is minor wear to the gilt rim edge of the teacup and saucer.
