DescriptionThis is a pair of Worcester large fluted coffee cups decorated in the London workshop of James Giles. Each piece is painted on alternating flutes with crimson and gold trellises and between them with swags of iron-red hops and green leaves pendent between gilt-edged and patterned gros bleu bands around the lower body and gilt dentil-edged rim. The ear-shaped handle has a band of gilt dots. One cup has a hair crack on the rim.ProvenanceHenry Clay Hofheimer, II
